On Saturday, March 1, 2025, the Music Departments of four Michigan Jurisdictions combined for the first-ever Pre-Musical for their respective Ministers & Workers Conferences. The united musical praise celebration was held at Greater Mitchell Temple Church Of God In Christ, pastored by Bishop Ethan B. Sheard.

The highlight of the service was that each song was led by one of the Prelates of the participating jurisdictions:

• Great Lakes Michigan First Jurisdiction, Bishop Michael E. Hill, Sr., Prelate and General Board Member

• Northesat Michigan Jurisdiction, Bishop Zachary N. Hicks, Prelate  

• Southwest Michigan Second Jurisidction, Bishop Ethan B. Sheard, Prelate 

• Southwest Michigan Agape Jurisdiction, Bishop Robert D. Taylor, Prelate 

The Jurisdictional Music Departments that woked together to bring this evening to fruition were led by Regional International Music Department Coordinator, President Terrance Curry, Southwest Second, President Thabeti Sims, Great Lakes First, President Toni Lett, Northeast, and Vice-President Greg Slack (Representing President Agnes Rance), Southwest Agape.

The Michigan/Canadian Council Of Bishops are intolerant of systemic racism and injustices. As advocates of equality and fairness among our community, we stand in protest of the blatant disrespect of human lives. The faith based community is progressively driven by great people of color. The black community has been great stewards in the kingdom, our churches and activists in our world. We acknowledge the brilliance, commitment, and the strength of our leaders. We acknowledge these senseless acts as forms of hate that have infiltrated humanity by generations. However, these acts are unacceptable and demand change. 

Therefore, as people of faith, we will continue to explore and demonstrate new ways to combat racist and injustices. And, we will continue to pray and work for change with action.
